Hi everyone,

This has unfortunately become an ongoing problem which is why it's necessary for us to write a journal entry about it, but if your submission was declined (or expired) and you would like to know why,

Please do not comment on the front page of the group and
Please do not send us a note.

What you should do instead is leave us a comment in the correspondence message of the submission that was declined/expired. When you submit a deviation, a correspondence message like the one below should appear in your messages page. Click on the link that says "No Comments" in order to leave us a comment.

The reason for this is that on our side, we can see details inside the correspondence message like when the deviation was submitted, which folder it was submitted to, and which mods voted to decline or accept. We get a massive amount of submissions per day - sometimes about 100 or more in a single day - so if you just comment on the front page or send us a note and go "Why was this declined? (Link to image)" we have access to none of that information from the correspondence message, which is what we desperately need to give you your answer. With so many deviations being submitted every day, it's just not feasible for the admins to comb through all of them to find one single deviation. Whereas if you comment on the correspondence message, we get linked to that correspondence message straight away. Makes sense? :D

Thanks for your patience and co-operation!

Submission Criteria

IN REGARDS TO COSPLAY: Our admins have had a discussion about this, and we have decided that it is important to update our submission criteria for the cosplay folder.

We will no longer accept "casual snapshots". This is especially the case of photos taken at events and conventions where there are random people in the background; they look more like quick snaps rather than a carefully composed artwork. We consider the photography to be just as important as the costume in the art of cosplay, which means that we will be restricting photos with busy backgrounds in addition to also restricting photos with dark/overexposed/blurry/grainy etc. quality. (Once again, this does not mean you need to use a professional camera. Many brands of personal cameras and phone cameras today take photos with crisp, clear quality).

Here are some examples of acceptable event photography from the submissions in our cosplay folders. The photos are taken at a convention/event, but they are carefully composed like an artwork and there are no random people in the background.

Keep in mind that this is deviantART, not Photobucket or Facebook. This is a site for artwork, not casual snaps. We would like all our members to see your best work, so please submit your best work! :)

Remember that our group rules are written on the front page of the group - please take a moment to read or re-read them. Because of the colossal amount of submissions we receive every day, this group does not accept everything. We are selective with what we accept.

To copy and paste, we do not permit any of the following: sketches; works in progress [and] linearts. If you feel that your artwork is unfinished or unpolished or a quick "rough work", then it is not likely that we will accept it. This rule applies to everything, including photography of figurines and cosplay.

Thank you for your time,
From the admins of Vocaloid-fanclub

Urgent :I'm so sorry for sending in the Note. It was by accident and I didn't mean it. I will try resubmitting it again if needed. I also deleted the Correspondence Message by mistake, so I will resubmit it by next week.
